Directors & Assistant Director
Laura Davis is one of the Co-Directors of our program. She believes that being a part of Weekday is her opportunity to be Christ’s hands and feet all the while laying the foundation of the truths of Christ with preschoolers. Laura grew up in Beaumont and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Texas A&M University. She and her husband have a son and a daughter...AND two dogs…and a hamster! Her favorite person from the Bible is David...He was so beloved by God, even though he made HUGE mistakes. But his heart’s desire was to love God and serve him.
Mary Bartel is our Assistant Director; she loves all of the children in our program and always greets them with a smile! She and her husband have 3 boys and 2 daughter–in-loves. She is a native Houstonian and a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a degree in Speech Pathology. One of Mary's favorite verses is: Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age (Matthew 28:20). When she is not hanging out with our Weekday families, she is having fun with her 2 grandsons and granddaughter who attend our program! Mary’s grandbaby #4 is due in March!!!
Melissa Dutton is one of the Co-Directors of our program. Her love for kids and passion for sharing Christ's love with our Weekday kids and their families are why she loves her job! During the Spring of 2017, her role expanded beyond Weekday into UBC’s : coordinating with the pastors and associate pastors to organize events, workshops, and classes to help our families, their friends, and their neighbors. She and her husband have two great teenagers and they love to travel together. Melissa grew up in Littlefield, Texas and received a Bachelors in Education from Angelo State University and a Masters in Educational Mid-Management from UHCL. One of Melissa's favorite verses is: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plansto give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).
