Ms. Mallery is excited to be a part of Weekday Ministries this year! She graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and is certified to teach early childhood through 4th grade. Ms. Mallery taught 1st grade in Clear Creek ISD for several years before deciding to stay at home to raise her son. She is looking forward to teaching 4 year olds all about God's love for them. She lives in League City with her husband and little boy and enjoys spending time with her family.
Ms. Kristi enjoys working with preschoolers because they are so curious about the world around them. She has been married to Bruce for 20 years and has 4 children between the ages of 8 and 13. All of her children are alumni of the Weekday program. She is excited to return to the program, this time as a teacher. Her family also has a crazy Border Collie and a mischievous cat. She has a degree in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University. Whoop!! In her free time she is usually driving her 4 children around to their many extra-curricular activities. One of her favorite verses is: We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure…(Hebrews 6:19)
Ms. Mackaela grew up in Casper, Wyoming, where her father was the Senior Pastor of Casper Community Church. She grew up serving in the church and sharing God’s love. This year is Ms. Mackaela’s second year of teaching with UBC. She is very excited to have the opportunity to teach our 4-year olds all about God’s love and unwavering grace. Mackaela and her husband, Bobby, have two wonderful boys; Christian (8) and Clayton (5). Christian and Clayton love playing sports and Ms. Mackaela can very often be found cheering them on at the soccer and baseball fields. Mackaela and her family enjoy traveling and spending time with their friends and family. Her favorite Bible verse is: I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Psalm 16:8
Ms. Jean has been with the Weekday Ministries program for 15 years in various roles - she has been a blessing! Jean grew up in the Houston area and graduated from Stephen F. Austin with a business degree. She and her husband have two great children that keep her very busy. They spend a lot of time on the baseball field and spending weekend time on the lake!
Ms. Shelia has been a part of our program for 24 years. She absolutely loves children and enjoys helping them learn and grow into the person that God has created them to be. Shelia graduated from UHCL with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Shelia is having a blast teaching 4 year olds! She and her husband have two beautiful daughters. When Shelia has time, you can find her reading, sewing, knitting or scrapbooking. Her favorite verse is: The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold (Psalm 18:2).
Ms. Christy teaches in our four year old class and will be working with the Weekday classes on various mission projects through the school year. Christy feels blessed to work in such a loving, supportive and creative environment and to have the opportunity to share God’s love with the children. Christy loves working with preschoolers because they have so much fun learning and exploring the world around them, and their joy is contagious! She and her husband have three wonderful children (ages 15, 13 and 8), and in their free time they enjoy playing games and spending time together outdoors.
Ms. Michelle is so happy to return to teaching PreK 4 and sharing God's love. She has lived in Houston all her life and has been married to her husband Will for almost 9 years. Together they have 4 children, Madisyn (14), Megan (7), and twin boys Jack and Liam (5). One of Ms. Michelle's favorite bible verses is Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. Colossians 3:15
Ms. Kelli loves spending time with preschoolers because they are so bright, and it is so exciting to see them learn new things. She has a heart for making a place for kids to feel loved and special when they are learning outside their home, and enjoys getting to know their families. She and her husband have three daughters! They also have one crazy dog! They enjoy swimming and do a good bit of traveling. One of her favorite verses is Proverbs 12:20 God gives joy to those who promote peace.
