India-Focused Retreat

Friday, June 23, 2017 - Sunday, June 25, 2017

1.3-billion people. The world's largest middle-class and largest democracy. The historical birthplace of Hindu culture, Buddhist enlightenment, and co-existing with Islam for centuries.  Although Christianity has been present in one form or another in India for centuries, it has never expanded beyond 3% of the population because it hasn't been able to shed its western cultural attachments.  The "culture" of Christianity in India today represents a foreign, separate caste, and there is need of a new wineskin.  This relates to us as we live and work among Hindu colleagues, classmates, and neighbors in Houston.  Consider joining experts, cross-cultural workers, and Christ-following Hindus at a retreat hosted by UBC at the Christian Renewal Center in Dickinson on June 23rd-25th.  For more information contact . To register for the conference and to read more about Hindu-Christian themes go to http://margnetwork.org and register under "Rethinking Forum 2017".
