What We Believe

Our focus on service and missions flows from our core beliefs.

Discovering one's full potential in Christ

We believe that God wants everyone to find their full potential in Christ, and that only in Christ can one’s full potential be found. That journey of discovery requires God, the Scriptures and a covenant community as guides in order to be successful. It is our greatest privilege when God allows our covenant community to help others in their journey of becoming more like him.

God

There is only one living, true and eternal God. He reveals himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God the Father is all powerful, all knowing, and all wise. God the Son is Jesus, the Christ, fully God and fully man. God the Father sent his Son into the world to make his way known to all people. God the Holy Spirit enlightens and empowers the believer and the church so that his will may be done on earth as it is in heaven.

The Bible

Both the Old Testament and New Testament are divinely inspired by God. They instruct believers in all aspects of faith and life. Jesus Christ is the criterion by which the Bible is to be interpreted. The Scriptures are authoritative for believers and for the church in every age.

Covenant community, the church

A church is a community of baptized believers with the Lord Jesus Christ as the Head. These believers are united in covenant together to practice worship, the spiritual disciplines, and service. The church is also an autonomous body, and those in covenant with the church are equally responsible for that body. As a covenant community grows in their understanding of God’s ways, it will seek to do His will in the local and global social order. To that end, as a covenant community we value compassion, and we seek to equip people for service.
