I grew up with parent-school-Baptist church direction in a small East Texas town. God grew a desire within me to be a school teacher. However, He did not permit me to be fully satisfied. I had a compulsion of "oughtness." In a period of seeking God's direction, I was protected in a "head-on collision," later sensing God's direction in prayer one night. Leaving employment with a major oil company, I attended Southwestern Seminary, served four churches (the last being UBC) for 36 years in church education-now retired to be a witness.
