Choosing to commit your life to the service of Christ may exclude the Christian from certain activities or opportunities, but the doors that it opens far outweigh them. The church at Philadelphia wasn’t perfect, by any means, but because of a certain level of faithfulness and their living at the right time and place, a unique opportunity for service had been set before them. In every church, the goal should be to come in for worship, fellowship, and strengthening so we might go back out in service, seeking to seize whatever opportunity the Lord sets before us.
