For some, the invitation to join the Kingdom was more than just an offer of citizenship: it was an offer to join the King in His marvelous work. The invitation was also a summons, a calling to be partners with God Himself. And while that calling would entail much, the work of the Kingdom is summarized most easily in Jesus’s teaching with the commands to proclaim the coming of the Kingdom, and to love all with great extravagance and without exception.
