Following from the image of the One Seated on the Throne, John recounts his vision of a Lamb that looked like it had been slain. The imagery is an obvious description of Jesus, the crucified and resurrected one. The hosts of heaven continue offering praise, now including the Lamb with the One on the Throne. And in their praise, we can find one of the most succinct descriptions of the work of Christ and the purpose of the Church anywhere in the Bible. Here is a description of those that are saved, both in their standing before God and in their lives lived out in the world.
