Girls in Action (Focus, Spring 2017)
Our Girls In Action (GA’s) began in January with the twelve-week study My Big-Screen Adventure: Showing Jesus Around the World. We ended the study by showing the movie The Story of Jesus for Children on the Wednesday before Easter. The girls were encouraged to bring friends to watch the movie, and about 50 GA’s and friends came to see it. And YES, we had a little excitement while popping popcorn and had our first church-wide “fire drill!”
The GA’s were busy putting their faith into action through several other projects as well. We volunteered on a Saturday morning at the Mission Centers of Houston where the GA’s bagged rice, filled bags of food for the elderly and sorted clothes. We collected clothing to donate to the Mission Centers. The GA’s also provided crafts and cookie decorating at the UBC preschool Springtacular.
