2016 Dominican Republic Teacher Mission Trip - Day 1
We had a very smooth travel day. There was very little traffic on our way to the airport, and it only took an hour to check our bags and go through security. We had a five-hour layover in Miami, but we used the opportunity to get to know each other and explore the airport. Our flight landed late in Santiago, and the line to get through immigration was long, but all of our bags arrived! After a late dinner of fried chicken and tostones at the hotel, we organized our bags for the conference and crawled into bed after midnight. In true Dominican fashion, several plans changed and were adjusted throughout the day, and I am so incredibly thankful for my flexible team members who have a heart to serve the Dominican people.
