Mercy Tree

UBC Serving Ministries began a new partnership with The Mercy Tree, a local, non-profit organization that assists and feeds homeless individuals. Our intent is to literally “create space” for fifteen to twenty Mercy Tree clients each week by sharing our building with them.

Each Thursday, UBCers will have the opportunity to interact and have table fellowship in the Chapel with people who are living the “Clear Lake experience” from a very different vantage point.

In supporting The Mercy Tree, UBC indirectly partners with several other Christian churches in the area. (Clear Lake Church of Christ, Southeast Church of Christ, Ecclesia Clear Lake, and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church all host Mercy Tree clients for daily lunches each week.) This opens the way to even further collaboration with these churches that want to make a positive difference in the lives of homeless people in our city.

If you work nearby or are otherwise available at lunchtime on Thursdays (anytime between 11:30 am–1:30 pm), you are wholeheartedly invited to stop by and share space at the Lord’s Table with us as we break bread together.
